Julie Child (Meryl Streep) who lived in the 1940's is a child of a diplomat wherein she found her passion in cooking and wrote a memoir while Julie Powell, a struggling novelist is trying to make ends meet and also decides to take up french cooking and blog about her progress. The film shows the lives of these two very different women who lived in different times places intertwined in the same events and shows the determination they put in to succeed.
