When the 3 musically inclined chipmunks hit music stardom with Dave by their side they then decide to return to school to finish their studies. But with music as their passion, their were led to another musical path wherein they joined a battle of the bands to win some money to save the school's music program from being eliminated. Though it is not an easy path as they meet their match, "The Chipettes", who are composed of 3 lady chipmunks. Together they ease it out with romance, music and the desire to win the contest.
