But his dream is only a dream because of Barry Nottingham the current owner of the hotel, who promised Skeeter's late father to make him the Manager eventually. One time, his sister Wendy (Courtney Cox) asked him to watch over her kids because she will be out on a trip. Skeeter and the kids don't get along at first but with Skeeter's (Adam Sandler) happy personality the kids loosen up. This is when Skeeter realizes something magical, everytime he tells a story to the kids, it happens in real life! So Skeeter uses this "power" to tell stories that will lead to his promotion as manager a position that is rightfully his in the first place.
